Other U.S. Graduate
Programs and Faculty
The best graduate
program is our own at the Univ. Minnesot's CEMS program, a top-rated chemical engineering
program in the country, both in undergraduate and graduate education.
Our bioengineering program is one of the few in the nation that is both
conducting cutting-edge research and preparing well-rounded engineers
to excel in the bioprocessing industry. (Ranking
of graduate programs)
As the country's research
emphasis is on creating new opportunities for the future, relatively scarce
resources are available for training our best creative minds to work in
the traditional bioprocessing industries, such as fermentation, cell culture
engineering and bioseparations. We have maintained our lead by continuously
introducing innovative ideas and pace-setting research tools into a diverse
array of intellectual challenges in areas ranging from future technologies
to current manufacturing technology. In addition, we continuously forge
collaborations with colleagues from many disciplines to introduce new
concepts, new methodologies and new ways of working together.
As a policy, we do
not take CEMS B.S. undergraduates into our graduate program. Following
is a list of schools which you may want to investigate for graduate education
in bioengineering. Keep in mind that a great number of students choose
different research areas after entering a graduate program; in making
your selection of schools to apply to, consider other areas as well as
bioengineering.
